Become a Youth Worker at Covenant House Vancouver, focusing on the needs of young people experiencing or at risk of homelessness. Create pathways to independence and self-sufficiency. As a dedicated Youth Worker, you'll connect with youth aged 16-24, assessing their needs and providing essential support in our Crisis Program.
Your role requires uplifting and empowering them through trust-based relationships while guiding them on their journey towards becoming healthy adults. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure their immediate and long-term goals are met. Key Responsibilities:
- Welcome youth and evaluate their immediate needs
- Foster and maintain trusting relationships with youth
- Conduct program orientation and complete intake processes
- Aid youth in goal setting and community connection
- Manage youth case files and documentation
Requirements:
- Diploma or degree in social services favored
- Prior experience in youth support is a plus
- Training in First Aid & Non-Violent Crisis Intervention beneficial
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Basic computer skills for documentation tasks
