Aboriginal Coalition to End Homelessness Society

Victoria

Are you passionate about Indigenous-led approaches to ending homelessness and building culturally supportive systems of care?

The Aboriginal Coalition to End Homelessness Society (ACEH) is seeking a Culturally Aligned Integrated Support (CAIS) Island-Wide Development Manager to support the continued development, implementation, and evaluation of the CAIS program across Vancouver Island.

The Island-Wide Development Manager provides leadership and supportive oversight to the Culturally Aligned Integrated Support teams in Victoria, Port Alberni, and Port Hardy, while contributing to ACEH’s broader Island-wide mission to prevent and reduce homelessness through culturally supportive approaches.

The position oversees multiple contracts and budgets contributing to CAIS, including those associated with the Canadian BC Housing Benefit (CBCHB), Supported Rental Supplement Program (SRSP), Island Health, and the Ministry of Social Development and Poverty Reduction. Beyond program oversight, the role supports research, evaluation, knowledge development, and meaningful community engagement to strengthen CAIS’ impact and inform ACEH’s Island-wide work. Success requires strong leadership, relationship-building, program development, compliance, data collection and analysis, and the ability to translate community knowledge and evidence into responsive programs and systems change.

WHO WE ARE The Aboriginal Coalition to End Homelessness Society (ACEH) has a vision to lead long-term, systemic change to better meet the needs of our people living away from home and experiencing homelessness.

Our work is centered on the voices of Indigenous peoples who have shared their immediate needs, lived experiences, and perspectives on solutions. Through research and experience, we have learned that culturally supportive models of care are key to achieving better outcomes in transitioning to and sustaining housing.

Our goal is to build culturally safe communities and provide opportunities for reconnection to family and ancestral lands, culture, and tradition, strengthening Indigenous identity and purpose.

Our Vision: Our way is to care for all our people, from the youngest to the oldest. We are all one. Some of our people living away from home are suffering, isolated and homeless. We stand together to end homelessness.

APPLICATION SUBMISSION

Applicants are required to submit a resume and cover letter outlining their relevant education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities. Applicants are encouraged to highlight their experience working with Indigenous communities and organizations, experience in housing or homelessness services, program development, systems improvement, data analysis, and partnership development.

Please describe how your experience and approach would support and contribute to ACEH and our community through a cultural lens.

Applications missing a resume and cover letter will not be considered.

This position is open to all applicants. Preference will be given to qualified candidates with Indigenous ancestry. ACEH values strength in diversity and, as an inclusive employer that celebrates the gifts of all its employees, encourages members of the 2SLGBTQQIA+ community to apply.
