Position Summary: Full-Time Salaried Therapeutic Counsellor

ICC is seeking a Full-time Therapeutic Counsellor to join our clinical team. Reporting to the Clinical Director, the successful candidate will provide counselling services to youth, adults, couples, and families, make appropriate community referrals, and contribute to the ongoing mission of the agency.

The Therapeutic Counsellor will provide services using a trauma-informed, strengths-based, client-centred, and culturally responsive approach that promotes safety, empowerment, collaboration, and resilience.

The position requires some non-business hours, including one evening per week. Hours are negotiable within a range of approximately 21-40 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide professional counselling services to individuals, couples, families, and youth.
- Conduct therapeutic assessments and develop collaborative treatment plans.
- Utilize trauma-informed, integrative therapeutic approaches that support client safety, choice, autonomy, and healing.
- Deliver counselling services in person, virtually, and by telephone.
- Maintain accurate,



timely, and confidential clinical documentation.
- Identify and facilitate referrals to appropriate community resources and supports.
- Participate in case consultation and professional development activities.
- Represent ICC in a qualified manner within the community as required.
- Adhere to all professional practice standards, ethical guidelines, and ICC policies and procedures.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

Education

- Master's Degree in Social Work, Psychotherapy, Counselling Psychology, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy, Theology (with counselling focus), or a related discipline.

Professional Registration:
- Current registration and good standing with one of the following:
- Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW)
- College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO)
- Or another recognized professional regulatory body appropriate to the role.

Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of post-Master's clinical experience preferred.
- Experience working with youth, adults, couples, and families.
- Training or experience in trauma therapy, attachment-focused interventions, or family systems approaches is considered an asset.
- Experience within a non-profit or community-based mental health setting is an asset.
- Experience collaborating with community partners and support services.
