Join the Brenda Strafford Foundation as a Therapeutic Family Counsellor focused on supporting adults impacted by family violence. Utilize your clinical skills from a trauma-informed perspective to empower participants. At the Brenda Strafford Foundation in Calgary and Okotoks, you will engage in meaningful counseling and case management with clients facing family violence issues.
This role requires developing individual service plans, facilitating group therapy, and conducting family interventions aimed at improving participant stability. Understanding each participant’s unique needs is critical to enhancing their well-being. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individual therapeutic support to adults
- Manage case files through regular updates
- Plan and facilitate relevant group programs
- Conduct family interventions to promote stability
- Support referrals to community resources
Requirements:
- Undergraduate degree in Social Work or Psychology
- Four years working with complex needs
- NVCI certification required
- CPR and First Aid certification needed
- Effective interpersonal communication skills
