You will assist with the implementation of basic individual or group treatment programs as directed by the supervising Recreation Therapist in accordance with resident’s care plans. You have a robust interest in activities and enjoy creative hobbies. You will collaborate closely with the Health Care team, including trained assistants, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech-Language Pathology, and Nursing to provide a comprehensive service for clients.
As a Therapy Aide, you will be working both independently and as part of the interdisciplinary team where you will contribute to the effective and efficient delivery of rehabilitation services.
Your role may include administrative duties such as ordering supplies, booking clients, tracking attendances, equipment inventory and preparing/cleaning the treatment area. Under the direction of a supervising recreation therapist, physiotherapist, occupational therapist, audiologist, or speech language pathologist, you will prepare and/or apply routine interventions, promote patient (client, resident) healthy living, self-care independence and motivate clients to actively participate in assigned therapy protocols or programs. You may assist with client lifts and transfers, positioning, and basic activities of daily living (ADL) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADL) within the context of the therapy program.

Preferred Qualifications: Personal Support Aide (PSA) certificate or equivalent preferred.Previous Personal Care Aide experience an asset.Related experience working with elderly or physically challenged individuals an asset.
