We provide education and services to thousands every year through leadership programs, counselling, outdoor education, healing retreats and supporting people with disabilities The Integrated Domestic Violence Response Team (IDVRT) Social Worker plays a vital role in supporting individuals at high risk of severe violence or homicide in intimate partner violence cases. Working in partnership with YWCA Edmonton, enCompass Community Safety Agency, and Edmonton Police Service, this position delivers crisis intervention, comprehensive risk assessment, and intensive case management focused on safety planning, stabilization, and coordinated system navigation.

The Social

Worker helps close critical service gaps by advocating for victims’ needs, strengthening cross‑agency collaboration,



and ensuring clients receive timely, trauma‑informed, wraparound support that enhances long‑term safety. Provide crisis intervention and ongoing case management to high-risk victims of domestic violence, focusing on safety and stabilization. Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and safety planning tailored to the victim’s immediate and long-term needs.

Work collaboratively with Edmonton Police Services and other community partners to ensure coordinated support for clients. Offer advocacy and warm referrals to community agencies, connecting clients with essential resources. Deliver domestic violence training on risk assessment, safety planning, and case management practices to enCompass Community Safety Agency and YWCA Edmonton staff and other community partners.

Maintain accurate documentation and records in accordance with organizational policies and standards. Bachelors degree in Social Work or a related field, MSW degree preferred. Active membership with Social Workers Association of Alberta Transparent Criminal Record, Vulnerable Sector Check and Child Intervention Record Check Minimum 5 years’ experience with complex case management.

Class 5 Drivers License with a 5 Year Drivers Abstract Limited Liability Car Insurance of up to $2,000,000.00 Expertise in domestic violence and coercive control,



with demonstrated skill in supporting victims and navigating community resources. Strong understanding of legal terminology and criminal court processes related to domestic violence cases. Demonstrated skills in crisis intervention, risk assessment, and safety planning.

This position is part of the Integrated Domestic Violence Response Team (IDVRT), a collaborative partnership between enCompass Community Safety Agency and YWCA Edmonton. Regular travel throughout the Edmonton area is required to meet with clients, attend interagency meetings, and provide services at designated Edmonton Police Service locations. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required to respond to client needs or urgent situations.
