Kirkton Veterinary Clinic (Kirkton, ON) and is a mixed animal practice offering a full range of bovine and small animal services, including preventative medicine, client education, emergency medicine and surgery, diagnostics, herd health and embryo transfer. We are currently seeking a full-time Veterinary Technician to join our team to undertake duties in all aspects of the clinic including surgery, laboratory, diagnostics, reception/client communication and running appointments.
Job Responsibilities and Duties include:
- Veterinary office management
- Assist veterinarian before, during and after surgery
- Provide nursing care and rehabilitation therapy for animals
- Handle, restrain and care for animals undergoing treatment and surgery
- Produce radiographs, collect and analyse samples and perform other laboratory tests to assist in diagnosis of animal health problems
- Prepare and administer medications and vaccines under direction of a veterinarian
- Administer treatments as prescribed by a veterinarian
- Provide wound and bandage care
- Counsel clients on animal health care
- Perform routine animal dental procedures and assist veterinarians with animal dentistry
Minimum requirements
- – College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1-2 years
- – 2-3 years of related experience

Hours of Work & Remuneration
Wage: $25.00/hr exclusive of benefits.
Hours: Full time, approximately 40 hours per week; Overtime after 40 hours at a rate of 1.5%
