Your role

- Directs and monitors the daily activities of yard staff and yard operations. Assigns work as per supervisor's direction and follows up to ensure performance standards

have been satisfied.
- Provides instruction and/or schedules training to ensure the development of staff.
- Responds to customer inquiries and/or complaints within policy guidelines.

Investigates and takes or approves corrective action. Refers difficult situations to Department Manager.
- Provides material to customers by reading shipping memo, checking for payment, locating and securing goods. Completes paperwork and assists with the loading of customer vehicles.
- Ensures stock inventory levels are maintained, ensures SOQs are completed by the deadline, monitors Store Use Inventory Sheets for accuracy and takes corrective action as required. Completes warning stock notices as required; conducts cycle counts to ensure accurate inventory.
- Reorganizes or puts material away, operating forklift or manually unloading carts and/or vehicles. Codes material by length. Make obvious grading decisions. Tags pre-sold orders by completing sold sticker.
- Assumes the duties of Department Manager during vacations or illness.
- Ensure the merchandise is in re-saleable condition and properly merchandised on the shelf and/or bin.




- Stores product for pick up and informs vendor of time deadline and culls all past due product.
- Tracks reason for returns and informs ICA of chronic problems
- Other duties as assigned by Management

What we're looking for Leadership capabilities. Proven ability and commitment to managing the performance of others; able to motivate, train, and coach others to a higher level of success and accountability.

- Provide exceptional customer service by inspiring and motivating others through their commitment and personal example
- Exemplary listening, communication and interpersonal skills
- Flexible availability based on store needs (includes, days, evenings and weekends)
- Position requires knowledge of related policies and equipment including how to operate a forklift, banding machine and power saws.
- Valid Forklift Operator’s license and/or training will be required.
- Has a high sense of urgency and drive; able to set priorities and deliver results within deadlines and ability to remain calm in stressful situations
- Has overall knowledge of the business’ strategic position in their market. Knowledge of the building construction industry; trends, products, application techniques and projects an asset
- Previous supervisory experience will be a strong asset
