As a Wastewater Process Engineer in our Burnaby office, you’ll play a key role in delivering impactful water and wastewater infrastructure projects across Western Canada . You’ll join a collaborative, multidisciplinary team focused on sustainable solutions that improve the quality of life in communities.
As a Wastewater Process Engineer , you will support the planning, design, and delivery of municipal and industrial wastewater treatment projects. You’ll bring your strong process engineering expertise and project execution skills to help deliver high-quality, innovative, and cost-effective solutions. Lead and support the process design of wastewater treatment facilities, including preliminary and detailed design phases Develop technical reports, specifications, and design documentation Participate in pilot testing, process optimization, and troubleshooting activities Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including civil, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation engineers Support proposal development, including technical approach and scope definition Support or lead project delivery for wastewater projects of moderate complexity Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and deliverables Coordinate with internal teams, subconsultants,
and clients to ensure alignment on project objectives Monitor project progress and proactively manage risks and changes Contribute to client relationship management through effective communication and technical leadership Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Environmental, or Civil Engineering (Master’s degree considered an asset) ~10–12 years of relevant wastewater process engineering experience ~ Ability to travel to local project sites (having a driver’s incense in British Columbia is considered an asset) ~ Strong knowledge of wastewater treatment processes ~ Demonstrated experience supporting or contributing to project management activities, including coordination of multidisciplinary teams, schedule and budget tracking, and client communication ~ Ability to support delivery of projects through various phases, with an understanding of scope, risk, and change management principles ~ Strong communication, stakeholder coordination, and technical writing skills Experience working on municipal infrastructure projects in Western Canada Previous consulting engineering experience Familiarity with BC regulatory requirements and guidelines Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
