You Will
- Ensure the safety of students and guests and provide an exceptional mountain experience through skilled instruction in skiing or snowboarding.
- Lead and motivate a strong and enthusiastic team of instructors and continually strive to exceed both guest and employee expectations.
- Work closely with the Winter Sports School Supervisor to ensure a smooth, professional and profitable environment.
- Lead the day-to-day operation of the school, conducting morning meetings and organizing instructors during the lesson start times.
- Assist the Visitor Services Manager, Winter Sports School Supervisor and Visitor Services Agents with scheduling and other office work including staff relations, administration of our safety program, and guest service.
- Will provide on snow supervision and ski/snowboard instruction as required.
You Have
- A robust commitment to safety.
- A minimum of CSIA/PSIC/CASI Level 3 certification (CSIA Level 4 and other qualifications are assets; foreign equivalents considered).
- A well-rounded snow sports background and a strong connection to Big Mountain culture.
- Confidence in steeps, powder, race courses, and learning areas alike.
- A solid understanding of CSIA/CASI methodology and the ability to share it in an approachable, engaging way.
- A leadership style that leads by example, enhancing guest experience and program delivery.
- A positive, outgoing, confident, and empathetic attitude.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and professional email communication.
- Strong organizational, scheduling, and time management skills.
- Fluent English communication skills (French is a strong asset; additional languages are an asset).
- The ability to provide a criminal background check.
- Strong teamwork, cooperation, and communication skills.
- Flexibility in hours and lesson types.
- The ability to work outdoors for extended periods in extreme weather conditions.
- The physical conditioning and stamina to lead on-mountain ski or snowboard lessons for long periods.
