Job Overview
The Recreation /Community Inclusion Program Worker is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of recreational programming that supports residents’ overall well-being and quality of life. Programming reflects a holistic approach, incorporating cultural, spiritual, intellectual, social, and physical domains, while aligning with each resident’s person-centered goals.
This position reports directly to the Manager of Community Inclusion.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deliver recreational programming that meets organizational standards and supports community inclusion
- Serve as the primary point of contact within the organization for all matters related to recreational programming
- Plan, coordinate, and facilitate resident vacations in alignment with individual Person-Centered Plans and goals
- Ensure all recreation equipment and supplies are maintained in secure and functional condition; identify needs and make recommendations for replacement or procurement
- Liaise with external vendors, suppliers, and community partners to support program delivery and enhance opportunities for residents
- Coordinate travel arrangements, volunteers, and external supports related to recreational programming
- Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness, making adjustments as needed to ensure meaningful engagement and outcomes for residents

Qualifications
- Diploma in Therapeutic Recreation and/or demonstrated experience developing and delivering recreational programming that supports community inclusion
- Experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities, including the provision of personal care as required
- Demonstrated ability to plan, coordinate, and manage programs effectively
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel as required
- Valid driver’s license and ability to transport residents, where required
Pay: $23.34 per hour
