Part Time Term Position (September to November)
The Field Experiences of INSW Students Research Project

The First Nations University of Canada invites applications for the position of a Research Assistant to assist with research for Field Experiences of INSW Students Research Project. Hours for this position will be between 15 - 20 hours per week for a total of seven (7) weeks.

Reporting to the Lead Researcher for the project, this position is responsible for assisting with transcriptions and documentation for the research project, as well as assisting with planning for the research gathering process.

Duties:

- Assist with research and conduct a review of literature on Indigenous student experiences in placement;
- Meet with Elders,



Knowledge Keepers, and Experts,
- Gather material as requested,
- Support project organization and administration,
- Support data analysis that will culminate in a final report,
- Maintain and track data using a variety of computer programs

Qualifications:

- Applicants should hold a Bachelor’s degree.
- Preference will be given to students with experience in social work and research.
- Have robust communication skills and ability to work independently.
- OCAP training or a demonstrated knowledge of OCAP principles.
- Demonstrated experience and understanding of Indigenous Research Methodologies.
- An understanding about the Tri-Council Policy Statement: Ethical Conduct for Research Involving Humans .
- Be comfortable with a variety of computer programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
