Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Transportation Manager to lead our logistics and freight operations, ensuring seamless movement of goods across supply chains. Duties

- Develop and execute comprehensive transportation strategies aligned with company goals, focusing on warehouse distribution, freight management, and demand planning.
- Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers (3PL), carriers, and freight partners to ensure reliable service delivery.
- Oversee shipping & receiving operations, including order fulfillment, packaging, and materials management within warehouse environments.
- Utilize transportation management systems (TMS), ERP systems, and AS400 platforms to plan routes, track shipments, and analyze data for continuous process improvement.
- Coordinate procurement activities related to sourcing transportation services and negotiating pricing to optimize costs.
- Implement process improvements across the supply chain to enhance efficiency in order picking, warehouse experience, and shipping procedures.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs)



such as delivery times, freight costs, and inventory accuracy using data analysis skills to identify areas for enhancement.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain accurate records within CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) for fleet and equipment maintenance.

Skills

- Extensive experience in warehouse distribution, supply chain management, and transportation logistics.
- Proficiency with transportation management systems (TMS), ERP systems (including AS400), and warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Robust data analysis skills to interpret logistics metrics and inform decision-making.
- Knowledge of freight negotiations, pricing strategies, demand planning, shipping & receiving procedures, and order fulfillment processes.
- Familiarity with procurement practices related to sourcing carriers and freight services.
- Ability to implement process improvements that enhance operational efficiency within warehouse environments.
- Experience with materials management tools such as CMMS for fleet maintenance scheduling.
- Skilled in using e-commerce platforms for order processing and packaging optimization.
- Forklift certification or warehouse experience preferred for understanding materials handling requirements.
