Responsibilities:

- Host Mandarin-language current affair and news programs
- Develop original story ideas, including potential video elements and interview opportunities
- Produce and/or report assigned stories for OMNI’s Chinese-language National News Programs
- Draft and craft news story scripts for on-camera segments, voice-over narration, and report introductions
- Carry out interviews, research supporting information, gather field material, and deliver finished news stories
- React swiftly to breaking news, monitoring key developments to deliver timely, clear, up-to-the-minute on-air information
- Pitch story concepts and offer editorial input on news coverage
- Prepare and edit daily news footage and reports, and provide voice-over narration as needed
- Perform additional responsibilities as required

Qualifications:

- Relevant academic background or equivalent experience
- Established track record in producing, reporting, writing, and editing television news content
- Strong understanding of both domestic and global news and current affairs




- Excellent command of English and Mandarin in all language modalities; Cantonese or additional language is an advantage
- Commitment to practicing journalism with integrity and professionalism
- Strong capacity to juggle competing tasks, manage time pressures, and stay composed during high-stress periods
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work independently and within a collaborative setting
- Comfortable operating in a high-tempo newsroom and staying effective in pressure-filled situations
- Relevant journalism experience an advantage

Pay: $17.78-$27.55 per hour
