Duties:
The primary duty is to run group tutor sessions for the students in General Physics I. These sessions will be held approximately weekly, when an assignment or test is coming up, in consultation with your schedule.
Tutor will be given the assignment or a practice test in advance. Tutor will assist students in understanding the material, explain concepts, clarify material, answer student questions, offer other support to students and other relevant duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Experience:
Preference will be given to a student enrolled in the 3rd or 4th year in a physics and astronomy degree at Brandon University, in positive standing with a minimum 2.5 GPA.
Skillset: Ability to work independently and/or with others effectively. Ability to communicate ideas effectively. Self-motivated. Strong problem solving skills. Attention to detail.
Demonstrated patience and ability to relate to students with a wide range of learning styles. Previous tutoring experience is an asset.
