- Must be available to work various hours between 6:45am - 6:15pm Mon-Fri.
- Implement child-care programs that support and promote the physical, cognitive, emotional and social development of children.
- Establish and maintain a warm supportive relationship with the families of the children.
- Be responsible for maintaining a healthy, secure, clean, stimulating environment for children in the assigned classroom and for the Centre.
- Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children
- Knowledge of Child Care and Early Years Act and knowledge of licensing regulations
- Prepare art materials and assist children to use them
- Guide children in development of proper eating, dressing and toilet habits
- Prepare and serve snacks
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications/skills:
- An Early Childhood Education diploma and Registered with the college of ECE'S
- Professional experience in dealing with young children
- Demonstrated understanding of and love for young children and enthusiasm for helping to maintain a happy, creative atmosphere in the classroom
- Valid Vulnerable Sector Check (within 6 months)
- Valid Standard First Aid + CPR-C certifications
- Up to date immunizations including TB test
- Health Check
