Water Damage Restoration Technician

DKI Central Alberta is looking for a dependable, hard-working Water Damage Restoration Technician to join our restoration team.

This is a hands-on field position working on residential and commercial property losses caused by water, sewer backups, flooding, fire suppression, and other emergency events. The successful candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, communicating professionally with customers, and completing physical work safely and efficiently.

What You’ll Do

As a Water Damage Restoration Technician, your responsibilities will include:

- Responding to residential and commercial emergency water losses
- Water extraction and removal of affected materials
- Setting up air movers, dehumidifiers, air scrubbers, and other drying equipment
- Taking and documenting moisture readings
- Completing demolition and removal of damaged drywall, insulation, flooring, cabinetry, and other building materials
- Cleaning and disinfecting affected areas
- Moving and protecting customer contents
- Maintaining clean and organized job sites
- Completing job documentation, photos, equipment logs, and moisture records
- Communicating job progress and concerns to project managers and supervisors
- Loading, unloading, cleaning, and maintaining restoration equipment
- Following company safety procedures and industry-standard restoration practices
- Participating in the company’s rotating after-hours emergency/on-call schedule

What We’re Looking For

We are looking for someone who:

- Is dependable and shows up ready to work
- Has a strong work ethic and positive attitude
- Is comfortable with physically demanding work
- Can work independently while also functioning well as part of a team




- Is comfortable entering damaged homes and buildings following water, sewer, fire, and mould-related losses
- Communicates professionally with customers, coworkers, adjusters, and other trades
- Is organized and able to complete job documentation accurately
- Is willing to work occasional evenings, weekends, and overtime when emergency situations require it
- Has a valid driver’s licence and a clean driving record
- Is able to safely lift and carry approximately 50 lbs or more

Experience Requirements

Previous experience in water damage restoration is required.

Candidates must have:

- A minimum of 6 months of hands-on water damage restoration experience
- Experience with water extraction and structural drying
- Experience setting up and monitoring air movers, dehumidifiers, and air scrubbers
- Experience taking and documenting moisture readings
- Experience with demolition and removal of water-damaged building materials
- Familiarity with jobsite documentation, photos, and drying logs
- An understanding of safe work practices in residential and commercial restoration environments

Experience with fire and smoke restoration, mould remediation, contents handling, Encircle, moisture meters, thermal imaging, or other restoration equipment is considered an asset.

IICRC WRT certification is preferred but not required.

Job Type: Full-time

Schedule:
Monday to Friday with participation in a rotating after-hours/on-call schedule. Overtime, evenings, and weekends may occasionally be required depending on emergency response needs.

Licence/Certification:
Valid Driver’s Licence required

Work Location: In person – Central Alberta

Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 – 60.0 per week
