What This Position is About:
We are currently recruiting Contract Faculty for Conversational French- Level 1 and Conversational French- Level 2.
Conversational French - Level 1 (LANG030)
This introductory course is designed for individuals with little or no prior experience in French who are interested in developing basic communication skills. Emphasis is placed on the energetic application of the language through classroom dialogues that build on vocabulary and grammar concepts covered in the course.
Conversational French - Level 2 (LANG036)
This course continues to emphasize the practical application of the French language through dialogue and interaction. Learners build upon the vocabulary and grammar introduced in Level 1. A prerequisite of LANG030 (Conversational French - Level 1) is required.
What We Are Looking For:
You possess a relevant combination of education and current, progressive experience in the field of study. You have experience teaching or working within the field.
You actively research and keep abreast of current issues and trends related to the field. You have demonstrated language proficiency and previous teaching or training experience.
Education Requirement: This role requires completion of a Degree in French, Linguistics, Education, Translation, or a related field.
- Native or near-native fluency in French (spoken and written)
- Experience teaching adults, language learners, or facilitating workshops
- Demonstrated ability to teach beginner-level conversational skills
Communication: Superior interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to deliver and receive feedback, as well as well-developed critical thinking/problem-solving, and organizational / time management skills are required. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to lifelong learning as a dual professional, fostering relationships and connections while providing accessible, inclusive, superior service to students.
Computer Proficiency: You are proficient working with a variety of computer applications including Microsoft Excel, word processing, spreadsheets, e-mail, internet search, learning management systems and online learning applications. Additional computer proficiency will be relative to the knowledge required for the programs of study.

Salary Range:
As per the non full-time academic salary grid.
