We are currently seeking dependable, motivated, and compassionate individuals to join our team as Relief Residential Support Workers.
Position Overview
This is a part-time, relief-based position designed to provide coverage for scheduled shifts, staff absences, and increased program needs. Shifts may vary and can include days, evenings, overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays.
This role is ideal for individuals looking to gain experience in the addiction and mental health field while working in a supportive and professional treatment environment.
Key Responsibilities
Relief Residential Support Workers play an essential role in maintaining the daily operations of the facility and supporting client care. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Providing daily support, supervision, and positive engagement with clients
- Dispensing and documenting medications in accordance with facility policies and training
- Transporting clients to appointments, meetings, and program-related activities using company vehicles
- Completing accurate and professional documentation, logs, and reports
- Supporting program structure, routines, and therapeutic environment expectations
- Monitoring client wellness and reporting concerns to clinical or supervisory staff
- Participating in ongoing staff training and professional development
- Assisting with daily operational tasks such as meal support, housekeeping oversight, and general facility duties
- Responding to client needs, behavioural concerns, or emergency situations appropriately
- Performing additional duties typical within a residential addiction treatment setting as required
Qualifications & Requirements
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Valid Ontario G Class Driver’s License
- Clean Driver’s Abstract
- Valid Vulnerable Sector Check
- Current First Aid and CPR Certification
- Ability to work flexible shifts including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Preferred (Not Mandatory)
- Previous experience working in addiction treatment, mental health, social services, or residential care
- Post-secondary education in a related field
- Knowledge of recovery principles and client-centred care approaches
