Summary of responsibilities

Function as a member of the Nursing Team within scope of practice. Provide/administer nursing care to patients according to policies, procedures and to the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) and CCH practice standards, as well as embody a culture of caregiver inclusion in the patient’s plan of care.

Requirements of the job

- RPN in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario




- Valid Basic Life Support (BLS)
- 1-2 years of surgical nursing experience
- Holds RPN medication administration certification
- Demonstrated ability to participate as a member of the health team
- Demonstrated commitment to patient safety
- Demonstrated regular, punctual attendance
- Demonstrated strong interpersonal, communication and teamwork skills
- Demonstrated ability to problem-solve, make recommendations and implement action plans
- Demonstrated computer skills and experience with documentation in electronic health records
- Self-motivated and the ability to prioritize tasks
- Completed mandatory training and demonstration of yearly compliance.
- Completion of critical care self-learning packages

Assets:

- Functional proficiency in both official languages (oral and written in English; oral in French and testing completed
- Completion of Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) training
- Completion of Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) training

- Completes established curricula as required at the unit level
