HAP Transportation Group Ltd. is currently seeking an experienced and reliable Class 1 Local Port Driver to join our transportation team.

This position is ideal for an experienced professional with a strong understanding of port and container operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for local container pick-ups and deliveries while maintaining a high standard of safety, professionalism, and customer service.

Responsibilities & Duties

- Perform local container pick-ups and deliveries as assigned.
- Complete daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections and ensure equipment is operated safely.
- Safely operate Class 1 commercial vehicles in accordance with applicable transportation and safety regulations.
- Ensure accuracy and timely completion of all pick-ups and deliveries.
- Complete port and container movements efficiently while following terminal procedures.
- Work with ELD systems and electronic workflows as required.
- Ensure proper load distribution and make necessary weight and axle adjustments.
- Maintain explicit communication with dispatch regarding pick-ups, deliveries, delays, and operational issues.
- Provide professional and courteous customer service.
- Complete required paperwork and trip documentation accurately.
- Perform other transportation-related duties as assigned.

Required Experience & Qualifications





- Minimum 2 years of Class 1 port driving experience is required.
- Valid Port Pass is required.
- Must be able to drive manual transmission trucks.
- Valid Class 1 Driver’s Licence with Air Brake endorsement/certification.
- Previous experience with container transportation and commercial driving.
- Experience with CP and CN rail terminals would be considered an asset.
- Good understanding of port procedures, container pick-ups and deliveries, and terminal operations.
- Experience working with ELD systems is preferred.
- Strong commitment to safe and responsible driving practices.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Reliable, punctual, and self-motivated with a strong work ethic.
- Flexibility to work varying start times, after-hours, and weekends when operationally required.
