TCB Line Locating Inc. is a wholly owned Indigenous company and a Registered Alternate Locate Provider (ALP) delivering underground utility locating, damage prevention, and ground disturbance support services across Alberta and Western Canada. We are committed to protecting critical infrastructure through safe, accurate, and professional field services.

We are currently seeking experienced Locate Assistants to join our growing team.

Key Responsibilities

- Gather necessary tools, equipment, and supplies for scope of work and ensure vehicle is adequality stocked, inside of truck clean, and box of truck organized prior to departing the yard.
- Identify all hazards on a jobsite and complete a FLRA to eliminate or control identified hazards.
- Navigate locator using LLD system, stay alert and watch for hazards while travelling to job locations.
- Stake and mark buried facilities in a safe manner, utilizing the proper PPE, industry standard colour codes, and utilize multiple colours to avoid redundancy and confusion for clients.
- Complete safety inspections,



filling out appropriate fields and reporting any deficiencies to the locator.
- Attend safety meetings, maintain safety compliance (Hazard ID’s, Positive IDs, Near Misses, PPE Inspections, Gas monitor Testing).
- Support the locator by reading and interpreting, job packages, utility maps, blueprints, and as-built drawings to determine the presence of utilities.
- Review the job dispatch each morning to assure they and the locator both are aware of any special job requirements.
- Carry a transmitter while performing inductive sweep patterns, maintaining adequate distance and proper alignment for the locator.
- Use AbaData to gather information as to pipeline size, substance and ownership for the locator.
- Ensure line locating equipment is clean, functioning, in good condition, and calibrated with documentation that’s up to date.
- Review and proceed through the Locator Training System in a timely manner.

Additional Requirements

- Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence
- Clean driver’s abstract
- Safety Tickets (H2S, First Aid, CSO, CSTS, WHMIS, TGD, UTV)
- Negative pre-hire drug and alcohol screening
- Willingness to take direction, accept feedback, and continue developing professionally
- Proven reliability, accountability, and professionalism
- Field-based role working outdoors year-round
- Must be comfortable working in a variety of weather and site conditions
- Physically capable of meeting the demands of field work

Pay: $26.00-$30.00 per hour
