Cubhouse Pediatric Therapy is a growing, family-centred, mobile pediatric therapy practice providing warm, collaborative, and evidence-based support to children and families within their natural environments.
We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Communicative Disorders Assistant (CDA) to join our interdisciplinary team. Working under the supervision of a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP), this role involves providing goal-directed intervention, play-based therapy, and caregiver coaching to children and youth ages 2–18 years across home, school, daycare, and community settings.

About the Role
The ideal candidate is passionate about child development, functional communication, and family-centred, strengths-based practice. This is an excellent opportunity for CDAs who value autonomy, flexible scheduling, and building meaningful therapeutic relationships with families while working closely with a supportive supervising SLP.
Responsibilities
- Implement evidence-based intervention plans developed by the supervising SLP targeting areas such as receptive/expressive language, speech sound disorders, social communication, AAC, and early language development
- Deliver engaging, play-based therapy sessions in natural environments
- Provide caregiver coaching to support strategy carryover across home, school, and community settings
- Monitor client progress, maintain accurate clinical notes, and collaborate regularly with the supervising SLP to adjust treatment goals as needed
- Collaborate with families, educators, and other team members (OTs, psychologists, PTs)
- Complete timely, professional documentation using Jane App
- Uphold ethical, culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and neurodiversity-affirming practice
Requirements
- Diploma or Postgraduate Certificate in Communicative Disorders Assistant (CDA) or equivalent program
- Active membership with the Communicative Disorders Assistant Association of Canada (CDAAC) preferred
- Valid Ontario driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and proof of auto insurance
- Experience in pediatrics, early intervention, or community/home-based practice strongly preferred
- Strong communication, rapport-building, and caregiver-coaching skills
- Ability to work independently in the field while maintaining robust collaboration with supervising SLPs
- Comfortable using electronic documentation platforms (e.g., Jane)
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Professional liability insurance

Pay: $40.00 per hour
