We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Powder Coating Shop Labourer/Sandblaster to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing metal components through sandblasting and applying durable powder coatings to ensure high-quality finishes. Your hands-on work will contribute to the production of finished products that meet strict quality standards. Duties
- Operate sandblasting equipment to clean and prepare metal surfaces for coating, ensuring optimal adhesion and finish quality
- Apply powder coatings using spray guns and powder coating booths, following specified color and thickness requirements
- Maintain and troubleshoot sandblasting and powder coating machinery to ensure efficient operation
- Assist with loading and unloading parts using cranes, forklifts, or hand tools, adhering to safety protocols
- Perform basic mechanical tasks such as assembling parts or fixtures as needed for coating processes
- Follow lean manufacturing principles to optimize workflow, reduce waste,
and improve productivity
- Conduct quality inspections on finished products to verify coating consistency and surface integrity
Skills
- Proficiency in operating cranes, forklifts, and power tools safely and effectively
- Mechanical knowledge with experience in machining, welding, or assembly is a plus
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and basic math for measurements and calculations
- Understanding of lean manufacturing practices to support continuous improvement initiatives
- Ability to interpret technical drawings or specifications related to coating projects
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on safety standards in a manufacturing environment
- Basic knowledge of welding techniques and mechanical systems is advantageous
