Data Center IT Operations Administrator:
On behalf of our Consulting client, Procom is searching for a Data Center IT Operations Administrator for a 6 month role. This position is onsite at our client’s Toronto, Ontario office.

Data Center IT Operations Administrator - Job Description:
We are looking for two Data Center IT Ops Admins to carry out a broad range of operational service and support assignments across a Bank's data centers. You'll work under minimal supervision on data center management, maintenance, installs, decommissioning, performance, and incident management, following established processes and documented "playbooks" for physical tasks.

Data Center IT Operations Administrator - Responsibilities:

- Support applications and systems by meeting or exceeding service levels while minimizing operational risk
- Schedule equipment installs and cabling requests promptly, engaging partners and planning parallel workstreams where possible
- Partner with stakeholders to improve production environment stability
- Lead support of Data Center infrastructure
- Handle incident management for outages effectively
- Ensure timely notification and escalation of issues, with recommendations for resolution
- Perform cable installations and testing using Fluke testers, fiber testers, and scanners
- Apply knowledge of interrelated power, space, and cooling systems within the data center





Data Center IT Operations Administrator - Mandatory Skills:

- 5+ years of data center management/operations experience
- Experience working in a bank or insurance company data center (regulated enterprise workplace)
- Extensive hands-on experience with IT hardware and Ethernet cable infrastructure
- Proficiency with Fluke testers, fiber testers, and scanners
- Working experience with ServiceNow
- Ability to learn current technologies quickly and apply them at a high level of proficiency
- Vendor management experience

Data Center IT Operations Administrator – Nice-to-Have Skills:

- Experience documenting and writing operational processes
- Working knowledge of network engineering, client/server computing, and production operations support
- Understanding of the relationship between infrastructure and the applications/services it supports
- Awareness of private/public cloud hosted infrastructure, physical DC security, telecommunications, and enterprise storage
- Strong communication and teamwork skills

Data Center IT Operations Administrator – Assignment Length:
This is a contract position with the possibility of extension.
