Manufacturing Operator — Wire Stake Production (Afternoon Shift)
Pay: $19.00–$21.00 per hour
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Schedule: Afternoon shift, 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM, Monday to Friday, with occasional overtime
Work Location: In person — St. Marys, Ontario

About Us

Express Sign Products supplies the sign and print industry across Canada. We manufacture wire sign stakes in-house at our St. Marys facility, and this role is central to that production.

About the Role

We're looking for a dependable, mechanically-minded person to run our wire stake production equipment on afternoon shift. You'll be responsible for keeping the machine running, keeping the output within spec, and keeping the area safe. No manufacturing experience required — we train on the equipment.

What You'll Do

- Set up, run, and monitor the wire forming and welding equipment through the shift
- Load wire coils and change over between stake sizes
- Check output against spec throughout the run and pull anything off-tolerance
- Assemble boxes, place and remove once full, and stage finished product for shipping
- Perform routine inspections and minor maintenance — replacing welding tips and worn parts using hand tools and basic power tools
- Follow standard operating procedures for setup, changeover, and shutdown
- Record production data accurately — quantities run, downtime, scrap, and any issues




- Troubleshoot machine problems and escalate what you can't resolve
- Hand off to the morning operator with clear notes on the shift
- Keep the work area clean, organized, and compliant with safety procedures
- Lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods

What We're Looking For

- Basic mechanical aptitude — comfortable with hand tools and figuring out why a machine has stopped
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures precisely
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision through the second half of the shift
- Able to read and follow written procedures and safety instructions in English
- Good communication for shift handoff
- Commitment to safe work practices
- Willingness to learn and adapt as processes change
- CSA-approved safety footwear (steel toe) required — we supply gloves and eye protection
