We are a growing CPA firm seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to join our team on a part-time or full-time basis. This prospect is ideal for someone with at least two years of experience in a public accounting firm, large bookkeeping practice, or multi-client accounting environment who wants to build a long-term career in a supportive and growing firm.
You will work with a portfolio of business clients, including licensed child care centres, and play an important role in their day-to-day financial operations.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform full-cycle bookkeeping for multiple clients
- Prepare monthly bank, credit card, loan, and balance sheet reconciliations
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Process payroll and prepare payroll remittances
- Prepare and file GST/HST returns
- Complete month-end and year-end bookkeeping procedures
- Prepare working papers and supporting schedules for accountants
- Review general ledger accounts and investigate discrepancies
- Prepare management reports and financial summaries
- Communicate directly with clients regarding bookkeeping matters
- Assist clients with accounting software and process improvements
- Maintain accurate, organized,
and complete electronic records
- Support the accounting team during year-end, tax, and assurance engagements
Education Requirements
Candidates must have completed a college diploma or university degree in one of the following areas:
- Accounting
- Bookkeeping
- Business Administration – Accounting
- Finance
- Commerce
- A closely related field
Additional bookkeeping, payroll, QuickBooks, or accounting software certifications are considered an asset.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum two years of recent, full-time bookkeeping or accounting experience
- Public accounting firm experience is strongly preferred
- Experience working with multiple client files and competing deadlines
- Experience with full-cycle bookkeeping, payroll, GST/HST, and account reconciliations
- Experience preparing files for year-end review by accountants
- Familiarity with Canadian accounting, payroll, and indirect tax requirements
Candidates from Big Four, national, regional, or established local CPA firms are encouraged to apply.
Technical Skills
Strong working knowledge of:
- QuickBooks Online
- Microsoft Excel
- Microsoft Outlook
- Payroll processing
- GST/HST reporting
- Bank and credit card reconciliations
- Accounts payable and accounts receivable
- General ledger review
- Month-end and year-end procedures
Experience with any of the following is an asset:
- Dext
- Hubdoc
- Wagepoint
- ADP
- Ceridian Dayforce
- CaseWare
- Xero
- Sage
- Tax and accounting practice-management software
