Maplesoft Group is currently seeking a Senior Developer (Guidewire) for a permanent opportunity with our client. Position Summary:
The Senior Developer will be responsible for designing, developing, enhancing, and maintaining Guidewire applications within a cloud-based workplace. The successful candidate will hit the ground running, contribute to code reviews and technical investigations, support junior and senior developers, and take ownership of delivering quality code across a variety of mini-projects, refactoring initiatives, and ongoing application enhancements. This role offers strong opportunities for career growth toward an Expert-level technical position.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop, enhance, and maintain Guidewire applications using Gosu and Java.
- Work within Guidewire Cloud environments to deliver high-quality, scalable solutions.
- Conduct code reviews and provide constructive technical guidance to development team members.
- Investigate existing code, troubleshoot complex issues, and recommend effective solutions.




- Participate in refactoring initiatives and smaller modernization projects.
- Collaborate with junior and senior developers through day-to-day technical mentorship and knowledge sharing.
- Contribute to technical discussions and ensure consistent development best practices.
- Use GitHub for source control and collaborative software development.
- Work with Informatica and related enterprise integration technologies where required.
- Take ownership of development deliverables while working independently with minimal supervision.

Required Qualifications:

- 5–7 years of professional software development experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with Guidewire development.
- Proficiency with Gosu and Java.
- Experience working with Guidewire Cloud.
- Experience using GitHub for version control and collaborative development.
- Strong ability to understand existing codebases, investigate issues, and perform code reviews.
- Ability to work independently and deliver quality solutions with minimal direction.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Willingness to obtain or maintain up-to-date Guidewire certifications within the first 3 months of employment if needed.

Preferred Qualifications:





- Commercial insurance industry experience.
- Experience with Informatica.
- Guidewire certifications that are current and up to date.
- Previous experience providing mentorship or technical leadership to development teams.
- Solution design experience within Guidewire environments.
- Experience contributing to modernization or enterprise refactoring initiatives.

Compensation:
Salary Range: $95,000 - $105,000 annually
