Role Overview
Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A;) Lead
We are seeking an experienced Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A;) Lead to join our finance team at a medium-sized manufacturing company covering the medical and transportation equipment sectors. The FP&A; Lead will serve as a strategic partner to senior business leaders, responsible for driving insightful financial analysis, forecasting, budgeting, process optimization and performance measurement to support informed decision-making and operational efficiency.
Compensation will be based on experience and qualifications.
Key Responsibilities
· Lead the annual budgeting process, including coordination with functional leads, analysis of assumptions, and consolidation of budgets.
· Work across the functional controllers to develop and maintain quarterly and annual financial forecasts, providing variance analysis versus budget and prior periods.
· Prepare management reporting packages, highlighting key performance indicators, trends, risks, and opportunities for executive leadership.
· Conduct financial modeling and scenario analysis to support business planning, capital expenditure decisions, and strategic initiatives.
· Provide business insight and action plans to optimize revenue, costs, and profitability across our operations.
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business drivers, develop and refine forecasting models.
· Implement and maintain FP&A; best practices, including creation of new reporting, executive dashboards, and Excel/BI tool enhancements.
· Monitor and analyze key financial metrics, including margins, production costs, inventory management,
cash flow and working capital efficiency.
· Oversee preparation and filing of corporate tax returns, working closely with external tax advisors and internal accounting teams.
· Develop, implement, and monitor financial policies and business controls, ensuring compliance with internal procedures, regulatory requirements, and best practices to safeguard company assets and mitigate risk.
Qualifications
- University Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
- Accounting designation (CMA, CPA, CA) required
- MBA or relevant master’s degree preferred
- 10+ years of progressive experience in finance, with at least 2–3 years in FP&A; leadership.
- Experience in manufacturing or industrial environments strongly preferred.
- Proven track record in cross-group collaboration, financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong proficiency in financial modeling, Excel, and Business Intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, etc).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to translate complex data into clear, easy to understand insights.
- Effective communication and presentation skills, capable of influencing decision-making at all organizational levels.
- Solid collaborative and proactive mindset, with experience partnering across cross-functional teams
- Knowledge of GAAP standards and manufacturing cost accounting principles.
Pay: $75,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
