Job Description
HTI is seeking experienced telecommunications linemen in the Metro-Vancouver area to join our Outside Plant (OSP) Construction Team, engaging in current telecom builds and plant maintenance with a heavy aerial/pole work focus.
Job Details
Pay: $26 - $40 per hour, depending on experience
Job Type: Permanent, Full Time
Shift & schedule: Daytime weekdays. Weekends/nights as required (infrequent), Overtime, no callouts

Requirements
- One year telecommunications construction/rigging experience
- Valid driver’s license with air brake endorsement – clean driver’s abstract (preference given to Class 3 or above)
- Clean criminal background check
- Fluent in speaking and reading English
- Fall Arrest training
Additional Requirements
- Able and willing to work at heights up to 50ft for extended periods of time in all weather conditions
- Available to work evenings and weekends (infrequent)
- Ability to operate vehicle with trailer safely
- Ability to lift and carry up to 60lbs without assistance
- Confined Space training and Occupational First Aid an asset
- Operate cable lashing machines & other line equipment
- Load/unload equipment & cable reels
- Outside Plant (OSP) line construction with coaxial, fibre and copper cables – familiarity with Telus OSP standards
- Perform testing and troubleshooting as required
- Adherence to all company safety policies and procedures
- Read & interpret telecom design prints and update based on progress, changes and field findings
- Maintain driving log, keep a clean and organized vehicle, daily inspections
Knowledge and Skills
- Strong manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination & attention to detail
- Ability to work in all weather conditions, confined spaces, isolation & at heights
- Ability to work construction in a physically demanding atmosphere -lift & handle heavy equipment (manhole lids/cable reels), climb utility poles up to 50ft
- Self-disciplined, motivated, organized & a team player
- Ability to work with tight deadlines and repetitive tasks in a fast-paced environment
