Job summary

The Tire Technician works in a fast-paced Automotive Service Centre environment. The role includes oil and lube service, tire installation, tire rotation and balancing and light vehicle maintenance and repairs.

Salary:

We pay extremely well and are willing to pay more based on experience.

The starting wage for someone with little to no experience would be in the range of 20-25$

Duties

- Perform basic maintenance and repairs, as requested (lube, oil and filter changes / remove, install, rotate and balance tires / basic repairs, maintenance and inspections that do not require the presence of a Licensed Automobile Technician, etc.) on customer vehicles.
- Conduct thorough inspections of tires for wear, damage, and safety issues.
- Assist customers by explaining tire options, maintenance needs, and safety tips to enhance their experience.
- Communicate with Service Manager/Service Advisors/Licensed Automobile Technicians and Back Parts Window Associate.
- Use heavy lifting techniques safely to handle tires and wheels during service procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area to ensure safety and efficiency.
- Provide accurate estimates and written vehicle reports to the Service Advisor.




- Ensure that an unsafe vehicle is reported to management and vehicle owner.
- Ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations.

Requirements / Skills

- Valid driver’s license
- Proven mechanic experience with a strong understanding of automotive systems.
- Mechanical knowledge related to tire installation, repair, and vehicle maintenance.
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and basic maintenance equipment.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to explain technical information clearly.
- Ability to handle physical demands including standing/walking for 8 hours while frequently lifting and carrying items, twisting, turning and reaching.
- Ability to work shifts (days, evenings, week-ends and holidays)
- Approachable and customer-oriented
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to find solutions to problems, adapt and cope with challenging situations and make decisions
- Knowledge of current automobile technology
- Ability to work effectively with computerized systems
- Results-oriented
- Experience in a similar role, in a Canadian Tire Automotive Service Centre (asset)
- Good working knowledge of COSTAR (asset)
