Millennium Protective Services, is hiring SECURITY PROFESSIONALS!!
Millennium Protective Services is seeking outgoing and professional Security Guards to facilitate security services at one leading security teams in southwestern Ontario.
This part-time position in Toronto and Brantford may lead to full time status, and offers competitive wages, flexible schedule, overall and site-specific training, with a great work environment!
The successful candidate MUST have the following skills and qualifications:
· The ability to communicate efficiently with both internal and external customers and employees
· The ability to deescalate situations professionally and efficiently
· Experience operating Metal Detector & conducting ID/Parcel Checks
· 5 years or more of related Security Experience
The successful candidate will be able to Identify any suspicious, dangerous, emergency or hostile situations to the supervisor and diffuse them according to Millennium Protective Services protocols.
Additionally, physical fitness is crucial to professional deportment, and the ability to respond to various situations that may - at times - require 'hands-on' approach.
Duties of this position will include:
· Access Control: Security guards often manage access points, checking identification, verifying credentials, and ensuring that only authorized individuals enter the premises.
· Patrol and Surveillance: Guards conduct regular patrols of the premises to deter and detect any suspicious activities or unauthorized access. This includes monitoring security cameras, alarms, and other surveillance equipment.
· Emergency Response: Security guards need to be prepared to respond to emergencies, such as fires, medical incidents,
or other safety threats. They may need to assist with evacuations and coordinate with emergency services.
· Crowd Management: In settings such as events or crowded areas, security guards may be responsible for managing crowds, ensuring orderly conduct, and preventing altercations.
· Conflict Resolution: Security guards should be skilled in conflict resolution techniques to defuse tense situations without resorting to violence. Effective communication and de-escalation are crucial skills.
· Report Writing: Accurate and detailed report writing is an essential part of a security guard's job. They document incidents, observations, and actions taken during their shift
· Property Protection: Guards safeguard the property from theft, vandalism, and other forms of damage. This includes monitoring access points, conducting security checks, and reporting any unusual activities.
· Alarm Response: Security guards respond to alarms triggered by security systems. They assess the situation, investigate the cause of the alarm, and take appropriate action.
Customer Service: Depending on the setting, security guards might also have a customer service role. They provide assistance to visitors, answer questions, and offer directions.
· First Aid:
Security guards may need to provide basic first aid and medical assistance until professional medical help arrives, if necessary.
· Enforcement of Rules and Regulations: In certain environments, security guards enforce rules and regulations, such as those related to trespassing, parking, or facility use.
· Collaboration with Law Enforcement: Security guards often collaborate with law enforcement agencies when dealing with criminal activities or incidents that require police intervention.
The successful candidate will the ability to work independently and in a team.

· Possess a valid Ontario Security Guard License
· Smart Serve Certification or willing to obtain prior to employment
· HIGH LEVEL of communication skills / Customer relations.
· Ability to travel to and from the site freely.
· Have previous experience report writing.
· Must be flexible in schedule.
· Able to provide quality customer service and maintain a high standard of service.
· Able to handle typical and crisis situations efficiently and effectively.
· Have a strong work ethic with commitment to your team.
· Alert: A good security guard is always alert and aware of his surroundings.
· Great Physical fitness: A good security guard needs to portray a clean professional image.
Job Types: Full-time, Part time
Pay: $17.00-$22.00 per hour
