We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Prep Cook to join our kitchen team at VS Dhosa. The Prep Cook will assist in preparing ingredients, maintaining a clean and organized workspace, and supporting the culinary team in delivering high-quality dishes and make some dishes . In addition to food preparation, this role includes dishwashing duties to ensure the kitchen operates smoothly during service.

**Key Responsibilities:**

- Prepare ingredients by chopping, peeling, slicing, and measuring as directed by the head chef or kitchen manager.

- Assist in basic cooking tasks such as grilling, assemble dishes under supervision.

- Wash dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and other kitchen equipment by hand or using a commercial dishwasher.

- Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen by wiping down surfaces, sweeping floors, and removing trash as needed.

- Stock and organize ingredients, ensuring proper storage and rotation (FIFO - first in, first out).

- Follow all food safety and hygiene standards, including proper handling of equipment and ingredients.





- Assist with inventory checks and report shortages to the kitchen manager.

- Support the team during busy service periods with additional tasks as assigned.

**Qualifications:**

- Previous experience as a prep cook or in a kitchen workplace for indian cuisine is preferred but not required; we’re willing to train the right candidate.

- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.

- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.

- Physical stamina to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform repetitive tasks.

- Team player with good communication skills and a positive attitude.

- Knowledge of basic food safety practices (e.g., ServSafe certification is a plus).

- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $15.00-$16.00 per hour
