Job Overview

We are looking for a reliable and organized Part-Time Bookkeeper to join our farm operation. This position is ideal for someone with basic bookkeeping or accounting experience who is looking for a flexible part-time opportunity.

We are willing to train the right person. The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of bookkeeping experience and be comfortable handling day-to-day bookkeeping tasks independently. Farm accounting experience is an asset. Training will be provided on our farm-specific accounting procedures.

Responsibilities

- Enter and organize invoices, bills, receipts, and other financial records
- Record daily financial transactions and maintain accurate bookkeeping records
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Prepare invoices and follow up on outstanding payments when required
- Reconcile bank and credit card statements
- Assist with GST/PST filings and other basic accounting tasks
- Track farm expenses, supplies, feed, livestock-related costs, and inventory




- Assist with payroll records and payroll processing as required
- Help prepare basic monthly financial reports
- Maintain organized digital and paper financial records
- Answer phone calls and provide general administrative support
- Assist with reviewing and organizing contracts and documents
- Perform other bookkeeping and administrative duties as required

Skills

- Basic bookkeeping or accounting experience preferred
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Positive English communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong attention to detail and good organizational skills
- Reliable and able to maintain confidentiality
- Comfortable working independently and asking questions when needed
- Willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities
- Experience with Sage 50 is an asset, but training can be provided

Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20.0 per week
