Job Description: Class 5 Commercial Pickup Escort Truck Driver

Who we are:

MXL Express is a locally owned courier and hotshot transportation company. MXL Express provides courier and on-demand hot shot transportation services for Canada’s oil and gas, mining and construction industries in and around Edmonton, Alberta and other provinces. We are currently looking for a Class 5 Commercial Pickup Escort Truck Driver for our Edmonton location.

Details:

- Working hours are Monday to Friday Daytime
- Occasional nights & weekend driving work
- Full-time, long-term employment chance

Summary of Duties:

- Drive a company owned ½ ton pickup truck to provide wide load support
- Perform general physical activities to load, unload, sort and move shipments
- Perform truck inspection reports using ELD Titan GPS flatform
- Maintain cleanliness and organized issued company vehicle
- Perform other duties as required by manager
- Safely escort Class 5 commercial pickup trucks along specified routes, ensuring compliance with traffic laws and safety protocols
- Conduct thorough pre-trip inspections of escort vehicles to confirm proper functioning and readiness
- Communicate effectively with drivers, dispatchers,



and other team members to coordinate movements and address any issues promptly
- Assist with loading or unloading cargo when necessary, including heavy lifting tasks, to support smooth operations
- Monitor road conditions and traffic patterns to anticipate delays or hazards, adjusting routes as needed
- Maintain accurate logs of escort activities, route details, and any incidents that occur during transit
- Ensure all safety equipment is in place and operational before each shift

Requirements:

- Must held Class 5 driver’s license minimum of 3 years.
- 3 years Canadian driving experience required.
- Clean commercial driving abstract
- Experience driving 2-3 Ton flat deck trucks and gooseneck trailers is an asset.
- Must be able to work on call for nights & weekends
