The Quick Lube Technician is responsible for rapid and efficient oil, filter, lube and minor service maintenance duties performed in the quick service drive-thru. In addition the quick lube technician will check, make note of and report any additional service maintenance observations that arise through routine inspection of the vehicle.

This is an entry level position and can lead to advancement within our dealership.

Duties and responsibilities

- ? Take note of and follow the designated Quick Lube Service Process
- ? Perform routine vehicle inspections including lights, wipers, tires and fluids checking items on the inspection sheet
- ? Check vehicle for any signs of potential problems such as leaks and worn or damaged components
- ? Remove and replace oil and filter with vehicle specific or customer specific components
- ? Remove and replace items such as wiper blades, filters and bulbs as needed and approved
- ? Check and either clean or recommend changing air and cabin filters
- ? Inform Quick Lube Service Advisor of any recommended service issues not on the signed Repair Order
- ? Check and top up all fluid levels, and tire pressures and check tire tread depths
- ? Perform periodic tire rotations
- ? Ensure that all caps, plugs and air valve caps are secure and in place before the vehicle is driven away
- ? Discard all removed items in the appropriate bins or barrels for recycling or waste




- ? Clean all spills and fluid or other residue on the vehicle and in workspace
- ? Retrieve necessary parts and components from the parts service window
- ? Drive vehicle into and out of the quick lube service area
- ? Deliver completed vehicle to the Reconditioning Department if a wash is requested or to the customer vehicle waiting area if not
- ? Keep work space clean and free from clutter
- ? Check and restock standard quick lube items
- ? Will have read and agree to abide by the principles outlined in the Employee Handbook
- ? Pleasant and courteous disposition
- ? Proper dress as designated by Service Manager with appropriately fitted clothing and footwear
- ? Be self-motivated and have an industrious and skilled work ethic
- ? Work in cooperation with members of the service team
- ? Will continue to learn and upgrade skills to inevitably become a technician.

Work Conditions

- ? Frequent climbing up and down stairs into the pit if applicable
- ? Periodic minor injuries are to be expected but major injuries will be avoided through adherence to standard safety guidelines
- ? Some lifting and carrying
- ? Working overhead and in sometimes cramped conditions
- ? Typical 8-hour, 5-day shifts per week with some Saturday shifts
- ? Work with substances that are greasy and may be caustic and cause staining of skin and clothing
