Job InformationJob Title: Junior Project CoordinatorJob Requisition ID: 82257Ministry: InfrastructureLocation: Multiple locations across Alberta (Calgary, Edmonton, Red Deer, Lethbridge)Full or Part time: Full TimeHours of Work: 36.25 hours per weekEmployment Type: Temporary and PermanentScope: Open CompetitionClassification: Technologies 4Salary: $2,516.23 to $3,295.45 bi-weekly ($65,673 - $86,001/year)Role ResponsibilitiesReporting to the Project Manager, Health Facilities Branch, the Junior Project Coordinator assists in the delivery and implementation of health capital projects from design development through construction, building and operational commissioning and turnover stages. The coordinator serves as the liaison between the client/user, consultants and the construction team, balancing client needs within project constraints and coordinating service shutdowns, inspections, and adherence to facility guidelines.The coordinator supports the team in advising users of construction activities, monitors project progress, prepares cost estimates and schedules, participates in value engineering, and manages contract administration activities such as progress claims, financial controls, reports, post‑occupancy and warranty services.The partner ensures projects are delivered within scope, budget, time and quality, identifies and resolves contract deviations,



and maintains effective communication with all stakeholders.Provide assistance to Project Coordinators and Project Managers to ensure project progress and timely resolution of issues.Facilitate construction meetings to keep stakeholders aware of project schedules and issues.Review functional programs and project designs to ensure construction requirements are incorporated.Coordinate construction work to minimize service disruptions.Review drawings and specifications for compliance with building standards and client functionality.Perform frequent inspections of work areas and sites to ensure policy adherence and quality.Support employee and furniture/equipment moves within project bounds, coordinating with all partners.Candidate CompetenciesNegotiation Skills – ability to explore alternatives and reach mutually supportive outcomes.Communication Skills – ability to present and clarify requirements to varied stakeholders.Organizational Skills – capacity to manage multiple activities simultaneously.Leadership Skills – ability to influence and achieve departmental goals.Teamwork – ability to guide and inspire others toward shared objectives.Analytical Skills – ability to interpret complex technical and operational information.Technical Skills – ability to interpret construction drawings, establish budgets and schedules.Business Acumen – knowledge of policies,



practices and trends affecting the organization.Problem‑Solving – ability to develop solutions for diverse user requests.Safety Training – exposure to hazardous chemicals, gases and construction zone safety issues.QualificationsRequiredTwo‑year technical diploma in Architectural/Engineering technology or Journeyman tradesman.Minimum two (2) years of related experience, including hospital or medical facility construction, or four (4) years trade experience in the same field.Valid Class 5 driver’s license.EquivalencyRelated experience or education may be considered on a one‑for‑one basis.Directly related education or experience is considered on the basis of 1 year of education for each year of experience, or 1 year of experience for each year of education.AssetsKnowledge of construction industry, codes, and building materials.Familiarity with Facility Construction Standards and Guidelines.Understanding of construction agreements, contracts and insurance.Experience in inspection and testing requirements.Proficiency in computer‑assisted design and project management software.Knowledge of project management principles and practices.Understanding of contract law and construction practices.Knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety Act, Regulations and Codes.Awareness of various parties’ health & safety responsibilities.Other RequirementsValid Class 5 driver’s licence required.Positions available on a Temporary and Permanent basis.#J-18808-Ljbffr
