The CSL works with residents/clients/families and provides oversight and direct support to ensure safe and effective resident/client care is delivered maximizing the optimal utilization of available resources. The CSL – AL/SL assumes a leadership role empowering their team to build and maintain a safety culture that pursues leading practices, promotes quality improvement and learning in their unit/department.Additionally, the CSL – AL/SL is a key representative of Valuable Samaritan promoting a positive image of the organization collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders of the organization.Educational and Other QualificationsUndergraduate degree in nursing required (i.E.



BScN)Gerontology or healthcare administrator certificate preferredCurrent CPR certificationValid registration with the respective provincial licensing bodyWork ExperienceMinimum of three (3) years proven leadership experience in a health care environmentMinimum of five (5) years health related experience, primarily in seniors’ care, including dementia/geriatricsExperience leading people within a unionized environmentExperience in understanding health care budgetsKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesKnowledge of:Accreditation processHuman Resources and Labour Relations managementSeniors’ care industry including applicable contractual and legislative requirementsComprehensive understanding of MDS/RAI coding and auditingDemonstrates critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills to resolve issues independently and/or make recommendations that are supported by evidence consistent with legislation/policies, and that meets the standard of careStrong computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Office Suite, webinar,
