The suitable candidates will be able to perform the following duties:
- Preparation of nutritious meals and snacks for staff and participants;
- Maintain and sanitize cooking facility and equipment
- Monitor and maintain the inventory of food and supplies
- Order food/supplies for weekly meals in an efficient and cost-effective manner
- Schedule, train and supervise Cooks Helpers
- Works closely with all staff to ensure special diets (allergies, religious) are being addressed
- Ensure strict adherence to food safety regulations, sanitation protocols and maintain high standards of safe kitchen environment to minimize any potential health risks
- Assist Head cook in harvesting, planting and growing of garden and greenhouse to produce fresh food
- Maintain proper safety standards throughout all food preparation and storage
- Other duties as assigned from Supervisor
The suitable candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- Grade 10 or equivalent preferred
- 1-2 years Cooking experience preferred
- Experience in preparing food and snacks
- Positive communication skills
- Must have Saskatchewan Safe Food Handling Certificate
- Must provide a satisfactory Criminal Record Check/Vulnerable Sector Check, & SGI Driver Abstract
