*Automotive Mechanic – Job Description*

*Position Title:* Automotive Mechanic
*Reports To:* Maintenance Supervisor

*Position Summary*

The Automotive Mechanic is responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining light-duty vehicles to ensure safe and productive operation. This role supports company operations by maintaining service trucks, pickups, and passenger vehicles.

*Key Responsibilities*

* Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues on light-duty vehicles
* Perform routine maintenance including oil changes, brake repairs, tire services, and inspections
* Repair or replace engines, transmissions, suspension, steering, and exhaust systems
* Use diagnostic tools to identify faults and recommend repairs
* Maintain accurate service records and inspection reports
* Follow safety standards and manufacturer repair procedures
* Keep tools, shop, and work areas clean and organized
* Communicate repair needs and timelines clearly with supervisors

*Qualifications & Experience*

* Red Seal Automotive Service Technician (or equivalent) preferred




* Minimum 1 year's experience as an automotive mechanic
* Strong mechanical aptitude and diagnostic skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Valid driver’s licence
* Commitment to safety and quality workmanship

*Assets*

* Experience maintaining fleet vehicles
* Class 3 licence
* Experience working in industrial or remote environments

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent

Pay: $25.00-$48.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
