To provide for the ongoing care and continuing function of facilities and to aid in providing a clean and secure learning and working environment.

Responsibilities

- Perform general maintenance and custodial work to insure general cleanliness of facilities and grounds.
- Clean hallways, bathrooms, classrooms, and other facilities on a scheduled basis.
- Strip and wax floors.
- Assist teachers in moving furniture and equipment.
- Keep building and premises, including sidewalks, driveways, parking areas, and playgrounds neat and clean.
- Assist with grass cutting responsibilities as needed (seasonal).
- Gather and dispose of trash and waste.
- Perform minor repair work.
- Check daily to enforce that all exit doors are open, unobstructed and that panic devices are working properly during hours of building occupancy.
- Report any physical damage to the building principal and to the Director of Facilities/Operation and New Construction.
- Utilize foresight,



concentration and mathematical skills.
- Perform other related tasks as assigned or required.

Qualifications

- Must be able to work days or evenings.
- Knowledge of cleaning practices, supplies, and equipment.
- Ability to understand and follow oral and written directions.
- Initiative and ability to work unsupervised.
- Must be physically fit and able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- Required to use hands to handle or feel objects, tools or equipment, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
- Requirement to stand, walk, sit and climb or balance.
- Must be able to frequently lift or move up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required on this job include close vision and depth perception.
- Must be able to perform each essential duty proficiently.
