Drive the advancement of First Nations family laws full time as a Liaison at the Assembly of Manitoba Chiefs. Engage with communities across Manitoba to implement Sovereign Nations Family Laws.
This role, under the First Nations Family Advocate Office, involves strategic coordination with First Nations to support children's welfare and governance. You will assess community needs, provide technical support, and assist in the drafting of policies that reflect cultural values in family law.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare presentations on Sovereign Family Laws for First Nations
• Develop assessment frameworks for community strengths and gaps
• Facilitate the adaptation of laws per community requests
• Assist in forming governance and procedural options
• Report progress and develop implementation plans
Requirements:
• Degree in Arts or Social Work with four years of experience
• Knowledge of First Nation child welfare issues
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Flexibility for travel and varied hours
• Current valid driver’s license and background checks
Support First Nations communities by enhancing family legal frameworks and fostering cooperation.
