Job SummaryReporting to the Senior Manager, Venue Technology & Broadcast Systems, the Systems Engineer will support design, maintenance, and operation of MLSE venue broadcast and presentation technologies across all venues.ResponsibilitiesContribute to the design and support of MLSE’s venue technology infrastructure at all venues.Assist in procurement, installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of venue and broadcast equipment and operating systems; lead these activities when required.Ensure control room equipment and display systems meet and exceed stakeholder expectations.Assist the Engineer‑In‑Charge with maintaining compliance of all league‑related technologies.Collaborate with stakeholders to establish technical strategies and ensure integrity of technical investments.Actively monitor, support, and maintain operational health of systems during scheduled live events.Maintain a progressive, innovative outlook on the use of technology.Liaise with EIC, Engineering Technicians, Technical Producers, Coordinators, and clients to design and support permanent and temporary installations.Adapt responsibilities as circumstances dictate in a live event setting and professional sports league.RequirementsFormal education in a related field or equivalent work experience of at least 5 years.Minimum 3 years’ experience providing live‑event operational support.Demonstrated growth to senior‑level responsibilities in live broadcast,
event presentation, and/or A/V engineering support.Knowledge of current digital video, audio, and data production tools and IP‑based broadcast and presentation environments (e.G., SMPTE‑2110, IPMX, SDI, MADI, AES67, DANTE).Understanding of broadcast system design principles, signal path methodologies, and the ability to read system drawings.Ability and confidence to lead a project from concept through installation and support.Ability to obtain “Working at Heights” certification.Nice to have familiarity with LED video displays and associated technologies.Bonus: Scissor Lift operation certification, AVIXIA, CompTIA A+, Network+, or similar certification.Bonus: Experience with AutoCAD, Draw.Io, SketchUp, or other system design tools.Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.CompensationSalary range: $75,000–$80,000 per year.EEO StatementMLSE is committed to building an equitable, diverse and inclusive organization.
