Position OverviewKiewit Infrastructure Engineering (KIE) has an immediate opening for amid-level Design Engineering Managerin the transportation/energy area, with an immediate opening on the Union Station Expansion Project (USEP) in downtown Toronto. You will be part of our rapidly growing Infrastructure Design Department, which includes structural, geotechnical, civil, drainage, roadway, rail, and materials disciplines. KIE is a multi-faceted division of Kiewit with best-in-class technical expertise focused on design-build and other collaborative delivery of infrastructure projects.District OverviewKiewit Infrastructure Engineering seamlessly transitions solutions from design to construction through the collaborative efforts of Design Engineering, Design Management, Proposals, Estimating, and Integrated Project Controls. Our construction-focused engineering approach involves a multidisciplinary team working together to maximize value for clients by improving schedules, controlling costs, and minimizing risk on infrastructure projects. This integrated strategy emphasizes collaboration and constructability throughout the project lifecycle, enabling us to identify and implement quality solutions with a strong safety focus.LocationThe USEP opportunity is located in downtown Toronto.ResponsibilitiesLead team of Kiewit design engineers, subconsultants and partners. Manage schedule and budget to ensure successful outcomes. Manage deliverables, quality and compliance. Participate/lead constructability reviews and the resolution of technical challenges. Interface with construction project leadership.
Interface with other Kiewit operating districts.Identify design-build opportunities and develop win strategy for capture.Interface and maintain relationships with external design partners.Support pursuits of design-build and alternate delivery projects from strategy to award.QualificationsMinimum of 5 years of experiencewith focus on design, construction or design-build management in thetransportationand/or energyinfrastructurearea.Bachelor's degree incivil engineeringor related engineering degree.P. Engis required or Engineer in Training (EIT).Familiarity withdesign-build /alternative delivery is a plus.Highly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and taking initiative.Strong work ethic, willing to do what it takes to get the job done right the first time.Passion for safety, with the ability to help us ensure that nobody gets hurt.Solid interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.Team player with the ability to work independently to meet deadlines, goals, and objectives.Strong organization, time management, and attention to detail.Ability to travel between 25%-50% across North America.Experience working with AI agents and tools preferred.Other RequirementsRegular,
