Personal Support Worker (PSW) Casual Current Status: Vacant Hourly Wage to Start: $22.94 Location: Lindsay, ON Start Date: ASAP Hours of work will depend on shift: 6:45am-3:00pm, 7:00am-10:00am, 2:45pm-11:00pm, 5:30pm-8:30pm, 10:45pm-7:00am, weekends and weekdays; summer coverage required; ongoing support for open shifts. Qualifications Personal Support Worker Certificate Certified in CPR and First Aid required Current TB testing Current criminal reference check including vulnerable sector screen Required and Preferred Competencies Exhibits caring and compassion while working with residents Medication Admin experience considered an asset 2-3 years experience in retirement home or long term care setting Knowledge of memory care and medication administration would be an asset Complete Orientation and all ORCA and in-house training courses Ability to prioritize, demonstrate flexibility and understanding Flexible on short notice Ensure that all decisions and actions are responsible and in the resident’s best interest Speaks and writes English well Medication administration training an asset Confident in skills Good critical thinking skills Able to work well with the team and independently Responsibilities Performs functions that provide for the support and care of residents with an acceptable standard of skill, with a sense of responsibility and respect for privacy and dignity Assists in observing,



reporting and documenting changes in residents’ physical and emotional condition Implements the plans of care for assigned residents as outlined by the Director of Care, and provides input into care plans Documents as per the home’s policies Promotes comfort and safety for residents Promotes independence and wellness Maintains effective communication and good human relations with residents, families and staff of other departments, using the appropriate lines of communication Benefits We offer health and dental benefits for all permanent team members.
