By leveraging market research, data analysis, and property condition assessments, this role ensures that every valuation meets internal standards and aligns with the company’s risk tolerance. We value a productive, proactive, and fast‑paced office environment.How You Fit InThe successful individual will have the following experience, education, and ability to develop these demonstrated skills:Education:Minimum of a High School Diploma is required. Completion of a postsecondary certificate, diploma, or degree program is strongly encouraged.Professional Designation:Candidates must be fully designated appraisers and a member in positive standing with one of the following recognized appraisal organizations: AIC, CNAREA.Experience:A minimum of 2 years of industry experience is required. Candidates must demonstrate proven expertise in property appraisal,
with particular emphasis on high‑density, urban markets.Regional Experience:Experience working within major city markets in Alberta is essential. Familiarity with regional regulations, market dynamics, and valuation standards in cities such as Toronto, Hamilton, London and Windsor will be considered a strong asset.Skills:Ability to think critically and analyze data comparative, curiosity regarding economic and housing market forces, and the ability to interpret data to draw conclusions.CompensationThe base salary range for this role is$77,000 to $91,000, with a total cash compensation range of approximately$85,000 to $115,000 .What You Will Be DoingReal Estate Analyst Duties – 90%Conduct accurate real estate appraisals in CHMIC’s lending areas using approved methodologies.Collect, validate, and analyze data to support valuation conclusions and risk assessments.Summarize findings clearly, providing well‑supported property and market risk insights.Assist underwriters in assessing real estate collateral, including distressed or foreclosed assets.Monitor real estate and economic trends to identify risks, forecast impacts, and inform decisions.Prepare valuation insights and monthly economic reports to guide lending strategies.Advise management on valuation‑related risks and market positioning.Mentor junior team members on interpreting appraisal valuations and identifying property risk.Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, including the following, as applicable Real Estate Act, Privacy Act, Securities Act, Business Corporations Act, Fair Trading Act, and others as required.General Administrative Activities – 10%Work with peers and other departments.Personal Development.What We OfferWe offer a competitive salary, bonus program, opportunity for share ownership and extended health and dental benefits.
