EMSL is seeking a Laboratory Analyst II (Microbiology) in Toronto, ON.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

- Preparation and analysis of Microbiological samples (air, water, and bulk materials) for fungi and bacteria including Legionella Classical and advanced methods for microbial and bio-aerosol analysis
- Generate analytical reports and enter data into the LIMS system
- Clean, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment as needed
- Perform quality control practices per company Quality Assurance/Quality Control manual
- Administrative duties including sample login and data entry, scanning and emailing reports and answering phones
- Other responsibilities as deemed necessary by the manager

Requirements:

- Bachelors Degree in Life Science is required, preferably in Biology or Microbiology with at least 1 Microbiology lab
- Authorization to work in Canada indefinitely and without restriction or sponsorship
- 2-3 years laboratory experience with preparing and analyzing samples for various microbiological tests.




- Ability to work with phase contrast and light microscopes, analytical balances, biological safety cabinets, filtration manifolds, and adhere to sterile techniques and good lab practices
- Ability to distinguish colors in order to perform analysis
- Ability to work independently, and as a part of a team, self-motivated, adaptability, and a positive attitude
- Effective time management organizational skills, and ability to multi- task and prioritize with minimal assistance
- Leadership and/or previous management experience a plus
- Must be able to work overtime as needed

Available Shift: Position is full time, Monday – Friday 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
