HR Business Partner National Money Mart is hiring an HR Business Partner to support our Canadian and US store network. Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, the HR Business Partner operates as a strategic and consultative partner to employees and management in the retail stores, supporting all aspects of the employee lifecycle: recruitment, employee relations, performance and talent management, change management and organizational effectiveness. We are looking for an experienced HR Business Partner who has a demonstrated ability to operate effectively in a remote environment.



The ideal candidate has employee relations experience and the foundational HR knowledge to fulfill the responsibilities of this role. What You’ll Do Recruitment Assists with managing job ads through the Greenhouse Applicant Tracking System (ATS) Partners with leaders to develop sourcing plans for geographic areas difficult to fill Reviews key metrics with managers and informs sourcing plans with our advertising partner Employee Relations Act as primary HR contact to employees and managers within the assigned business line to ensure they receive appropriate support and follow‑up. Maintains in‑depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day‑to‑day employee management, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Conducts effective, thorough, objective workplace investigations; ensures appropriate responses related to Health and Safety, Hotline complaints, etc.; involves/escalates as required. Manages and resolves complex employee relation issues and addresses third‑party claims. Consults regularly with management and provides guidance where appropriate, including HR policy guidance and interpretation. Works in conjunction with managers to make termination decisions and execute. Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention. Supports engagement initiatives, including employee surveys and focus groups to measure employee satisfaction and engagement. Provides employment verification documentation and other administrative support, where required. Performance and Talent Management Provides day‑to‑day performance management guidance to managers (e.G., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions). Coaches, assists, consults with performance and development decisions (Performance Improvement Plans, Progressive Discipline, Development plans and programs). Consults on all promotions within area of responsibility and provides compensation recommendations/guidelines. Develops contract terms for new hires, promotions and transfers. Partners with management to execute the company Performance Management cycles throughout the year.



Provides reporting to managers to assist in execution and accountability for performance processes. Change Management and Organizational Effectiveness In partnership with business leaders, provides guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce planning and succession planning. Monitors and provides reporting to business leaders monthly for key HR metrics (e.G., turnover, recruiting effectiveness, headcount, etc.) to assist leaders in managing their areas. Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with the HR leadership team to develop solutions, programs and policies. Supports internal communication strategies around change/transformation initiatives.
