In turn, a Return of Service will be required for the length of the assignment.The OpportunityThe MRI Technologist, under the general supervision of the area supervisor and department manager, is responsible for the operation of the MRI and accessory equipment requiring minimum supervision, independent judgement, ingenuity and initiative. Performing MRI procedures for the purpose of medical diagnosis including: assessing requisitions for appropriate examinations; obtaining pertinent history and screening patients for MRI safety and possible contrast reactions, providing patient care and monitoring of patients, selecting techniques and positioning patients; post‑processing acquired images, maintaining an MRI safe setting and providing MRI safety education,



practising sterile techniques when required; and performance of clerical duties related to the care of the patient including ensuring the accuracy and transfer of data to PACS.Hours of WorkDaytime and evening hours (75 hours biweekly). On‑call after hours and weekends rotation.Your QualificationsGraduate of a recognised school of Medical Radiation Technology required.Current or eligible for registration with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) required.Current or eligible for licensure with the Nova Scotia College of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Professionals (NSCMIRTP) required.Successful completion of a Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada Basic Life Support (BLS) Program in the last 12 months required or successful completion of a BLS Renewal Challenge Certificate required.Demonstrated ability to make independent technical decisions and work as part of an interdisciplinary team, required.Must be willing to obtain continuing education.
