English Teacher (JK – Grade 6)

Position Requirements

- Must reside in Oakville or commute from Mississauga, Burlington, Etobicoke, or Milton.
- Work after‑school and evening hours (4:00 pm – 8:00 pm) and Saturdays (10:00 am – 3:00 pm).
- Commitment until the end of the school year is preferred; continuing through summer is even better.
- Must be able to commute to Oxford Learning Uptown Core – the position is in‑person; no relocation package is offered.
- Vulnerable sector screening is mandatory.
- Reliability and punctuality are essential.

Education

- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- Teaching certification.
- Strong knowledge of the current Kindergarten to Grade 6 curriculum.

Experience

- Experience teaching Kindergarten to Grade 6 students.
- Ability to teach young children in a joyful manner.
- Robust English written and oral communication skills and the ability to guide students’ understanding through a variety of resources.
- Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time.

Responsibilities

- Teach up to three students at a time at different levels.
- Work primarily in‑person (with some online sessions).




- Follow Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophies.
- Fill in post‑lesson notes.
- Complete daily student communication updates.
- Maintain a friendly and professional manner at all times.

Job Type & Compensation

Part‑time. Salary: $19 – $22 per hour.

Schedule

- Evenings (Monday to Friday, 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm).
- Saturday availability (10:00 am – 3:00 pm).
